Skin Care Regimen For Beautiful Skin

To have beautiful skin you must give it your utmost attention. Some people come with naturally beautiful skin while others have to work hard at attaining it. But, even with this natural skin beauty, you must also maintain that skin for it to remain lovely.

These tips are basic skin care procedures to have that skin you desire. They are tried and proven and have been done by millions of people around the world.  Follow these tips and your skin will love you.

Daily skin care regimen

Cleansing the skin

The first step in renewing the skin is to cleanse it. Cleansing takes a little technique that many people may not know.

  1. The first step in cleansing is to remove all make-up if any. Using a cold cream or make-up remover is best. The cold cream is mostly used at night because of its replenishing and moisturizing capacities. Some makeup removers contain alcohol which dries out the skin. Unless you have oily skin, it's best to stay away from alcohol based skin care products.
  2. Washing the face. You do this at least once everyday. When is the best time to actually foam the face? In the Evening after a hard day's work where you collect debris from pollution. Use a mild soap or foaming face wash to lift dead skin cells and debris, rinse and pat dry.
  3. In the morning all you need to do is plash plain tap water on the face; pat dry or leave to air dry. Alternatively you can use replenishing or moisturizing wipes to lift dead cells from the face and cleanse your pores.

How to cleanse the face

  • Whether using a disposable towelette or removing cold cream, you must remember these tips. Follow your cheek bone structure in an upward movement. Circle the orbit (never use these on your soft-skin of the eyes) moving from the bridge of the nose outward, coming around the forehead and back around. You then clean the forehead in an upward movement.
  • When foaming or scrubbing the face the same rules apply.
  • When rinsing the face all you need is to cup the water with both hands and splash on your face. Never rub your face when rinsing. Keep splashing water on the face until all foam is gone.
  • Pat dry the face or leave to air dry.

Toning the Face

Using a toner will remove dead skin cells, cleanse pores, remove dark spots and even out skin tone. Your skin will look fresher and bright. Using the same upward movement, use a toning towelette or cotton moistened with your favorite toner, do this after you have cleansed the face.

Remember to have an idea of your skin type so you will know what toner is best for you.

Moisturizing the face

The next basic step in your regimen is to always moisturize. Depending on your skin type and the type of toner, your skin may dry out after toning. It's best to use a moisturizer which will add back moisture to the skin. Use a moisturizer that "locks in moisture". That is, a moisturizer which does not evaporate, but one that will last a long time.

Tips

  • Use water based (oil free) moisturizer for oily skin and all other skin types
  • Oil based moisturizer for dry skin
  • Sensitive skin should keep away from moisturizers with fragrance and paraben

Special skin care regimen

Your skin care routine must not stop there. Cleansing, toning and moisturizing will not give you the 100% effect you need for a totally beautiful skin. That is just the beginning. Here are some addition measure you need to add to your regimen.
  • Use a gentle scrub at least once per week to remove dead skin build up. Keep away from apricot or walnut seeds as these will ear the skin leaving micro damages that will show up after a while. I will tell you how to make your own scrub in another post but for now you can use slough that has glycolic acid or alpha hydraulic acid.
  • Masks. These are used about twice per month to help cleanse the build up within your pores, tighten and rejuvenate your skin. Natural facial masks are usually best and can be done at home.
  • A treatment. Demanding on your need you can either do a daily treatment such as vitamin C or a facial peel treatment which is prescribed by your dermatologist. Before you decide on any skin treatment, know your skin type first, next do an analysis, then decide on your treatment. What does your skin need?

- Scars may require a microdermabrasion. This works on all skin types and is particularly used to reduce stretch marks, wrinkles and scars caused from acne.

- Pimples may require an acne treatment, or pimple serum to remove sebum (is that's the case). Pimples can be caused from irritants so you must determine the cause of your pimples beforehand.

- Clogged pores may require a deep pore cleanse or a visit to your aesthetician who will know exactly the kind of treatment for your pores.

- A glycolic peel is done at your beauty therapist. This is done to remedy sun damage, skin discoloration and clogged pores.

Treat your skin well and your skin will love you!
